Business Recognition Program

The DFC Community Awareness Committee manages the DFC Business Recognition Program, which recognizes businesses and other organizations who have made exemplary efforts to welcome, engage and serve people with disabilities by providing an accessible environment and an inclusive atmosphere. DFC’s approach has been multi-faceted, enlisting accessible businesses to place DFC window stickers on their premises declaring them to be “Disability Friendly” and presenting Certificates of Merit to organizations that have gone above and beyond the requirements to provide access to people with disabilities. The list of recipients of DFC’s Certificate of Merit includes the Nineteenth Street Theater, the Muhlenberg College Department of Theater and Dance, Air Products’ summer internship program for people with disabilities, the Hawk Mountain Sanctuary Association and the Leaser Lake Heritage Foundation.
